Theories of the Universe

Image
The Universe is ever expanding, and its accelerating. But what could possibly imply that the universe could collapse into a single atom? Studies by astrophysicists shows that the universe is approximately 13.8 billion years old. So, the universe has a beginning and an end? Or is it possible that the universe is a repeating cycle? String theory was proposed in the 1960’s. It was developed to be a unity between Quantum mechanics and Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. This theory explained most of the events that occurred around the time of young universe. The theory is that all matter are complex strings whose vibrations can determine the properties. Then came the Big Bang Cosmology, along with the idea of Inflation. These theories state that at the time of birth of the universe, it became very large in such a small time, when the universe was less that a second old. This sudden inflation, with huge gravitational differences, caused the formation of huge splotches found in the unive...

Security in the Future

Researchers from the University of Tsukaba in Japan designed a pattern that cannot be duplicated in any way. How is this helpful? Patterns play an important role in many fields of mathematics. Patterns helped many physicists and mathematicians to solve many problems which would’ve otherwise been unsolvable. Many discoveries were possible because of patterns. Some of them are demonstrated using mathematical graphs, and some with natural phenomenon. Scientists recently designed a pattern, that cannot be duplicated or forged by any means. This means that this pattern could be very helpful to eliminate counterfeits and forgery, which affected the economy a lot.  Before we get into the working, let’s see what is a Whispering Gallery. Whispering Galleries are huge places, that are shaped in order to reflect sound waves in an abnormal way. Some galleries are designed so that the sound waves travel to every part of the place, despite there being any obstructions. They are mostly spherical ...

Neuralink Technology - Elon Musk

Image
Another one of Elon Musk’s tech innovations Earlier, we saw about the new Starlink satellites that will provide a whole new form of internet access. Now, Elon musk claims to provide access to ‘Smart’ tech for physically disabled people. How? He’s literally going to put a processor chip inside your brain, if you’d want to. ‘Neuralink’ is a coin sized chip, developed by Elon musk and his team. “It’s like having a Fitbit in your brain with wires.” Elon said in a livestream. During the event, he said that the team planted one of their chips in a pig’s brain 2 months earlier. Gertrude the pig was monitored in a pen, simulating its natural environment. As he moves around the pen, the graphs shown in monitors started to show results. “The beeps that you hear are signal bursts from the chip inside his brain.” Medical tests are still going on as to determine the safety of Neuralink in one of our heads. But conducting the trials and ensuring safety can take years. The processor, which now s...

Epic games against Apple

Epic games is well known for its popular game, Fortnite. If you haven’t played it before, it is a battle royale game, where 100 people land on an island full of weapons, and the last man standing wins. While the battle royale concept itself is very exciting for any gamer in this era, the game provides cosmetics to buy. This pushes the gamer to spend a few bucks in the game, and get their favourite cosmetics to flex. Epic games announced the launch of the game for iOS devices on March 2018. Since then, the payment method was through apple’s services. Also, Apple’s Appstore policies state that 30% of the payment goes to them, Which Epic did not like. What move did epic make? Epic introduced their own payment system in the game for players to make a direct payment to the developers themselves. But apple did not like anyone not following their policies. Apple removed Fortnite from the Appstore as soon as they found out about the new payment method. Did they stop at that? No. Apple states t...
